Councils in South Australia

Councils provide a range of services to their communities based on their different needs and priorities. As part of meeting these needs, councils have become a key driver behind this project as they endeavour to support their local businesses.

There are 24 councils actively engaged in the LGA’s China engagement program and the SASD Connect platform.

Councils are also offered valuable support by their local Regional Development Australia (RDA) boards. These boards provide critical whole-of-region assistance and allow councils to work more collaboratively with one another.

RDAs are designed to bring together all levels of government to enhance the development of Australia’s regions. The RDA regional areas in South Australia are denoted on the map below as the large coloured areas.
