The large township of Mannum is the hub of Murray River tourism and located only 90 minutes from Adelaide CBD.
The Region boasts a population of around 8,200 but grows to around 20,000 during the warmer months. 2,500 shacks sites are contained throughout the Region.

Over the past 18 months over $900M worth of development applications have been lodged with projected large scale investments in renewable energy, intensive animal keeping and processing plants.

The tourism industry contributes an estimated $358 million annually to the Murray River Lakes & Coorong and Riverland regional economies.

Currently the connection with China/Shandong is limited and we look forward to broadening that connection. Council’s Mayor, as President of the Local Government Association of South Australia, is leading the outbound mission on behalf of local government.

Mid Murray Council welcomes the Chinese business community and looks forward to promoting investment and fostering export opportunities.
