Adelaide City Council

Adelaide City Council was the first local government formed in Australia in 1840 and in 2015 we celebrated our 175th Anniversary.

Adelaide is a city of great places for people, for living and community life, for businesses to start up and grow and for knowledge and creativity to flourish.

Adelaide offers extensive investment potential and is consistently recognised as one of the most affordable capital cities to live and do business in Australia.

The City of Adelaide has a strong history of international partnerships through Sister City connections. Adelaide’s Sister City relationship with Qingdao and our State’s Sister State relationship with Shandong Province are both extremely important to the City of Adelaide.

Adelaide City Council welcomes the Chinese business community and endeavours to promote and create growth and prosperity for our two cities. This will be achieved through the exchange of new and innovative ideas.
